Composter training to start in Jefferson County

Want to reduce your food waste and make it a resource? Create your own soil amendment for your garden? Learn how composting can lower your carbon footprint? Become a Jefferson County Master Composter by attending a four-session training that will explore topics such as soil health, vermicomposting, carbon sequestration, waste reduction and compost bin building. The final class includes a local composting tour.

Training occurs every Thursday from 3-6 p.m. beginning May 14-June 4 at the Tri-Area Community Center, 10 West Valley Road in Chimacum. Cost is $40; Master Gardeners will be given a discount. Pre-registration is encouraged.
