Sequim police said Cortani and his father William Cortani strategically stole the TVs, valued collectively at $1,981, by purchasing one then returning to the store with the receipt and taking another TV of the same kind.

William Cortani did not appear for his July 1 arraignment and court documents show he did not receive a court summons. The matter was set over to July 15.

Anthony Cortani, through his attorney, objected to a Sept. 12 date. He was released on personal recognizance with the conditions he not enter the Sequim Walmart, The Home Depot or Costco.
