Two of three Sequim individuals detained in a drug bust on June 25 near Greywolf Elementary School pleaded not guilty to drug charges on July 10 while the tenant awaits an arraignment hearing.

Law enforcement arrested Klell “Casey” Morgan, 65, Gary Otis Starks Jr., 53, and Janice Levone Marienau, 58, for their connection with the possession or sale of illegal drugs at 11 Smithfield Drive in Carlsborg.

When arrested, Starks Jr. and Marienau were allegedly in possession of about 2.5 grams of methamphetamine, a Class C felony, the Clallam County Sheriff’s Office reports.

They face charges of possession of a controlled substance other than marijuana with Starks Jr. facing six to 12 months in jail and Marienau up to six months. Their trials are set to begin on Sept. 16.

Morgan, who rented the property, was arrested for alleged unlawful use of a building for drug purposes.

Law enforcement reports they found heroin in Morgan’s possession. His arraignment hearing is set for 1 p.m. on July 21 in Clallam County Superior Court.

The Sheriff’s Office reports investigators received the search warrant after an informant was able to purchase methamphetamine from two persons at the house on April 16 and liquefied heroin from a third person on April 17.

Law officials say Morgan was present and allegedly asked the informant to buy $40 of heroin for him.

Since Jan. 1, law enforcement officials say they responded to the residence at least 50 times for multiple incidents, from warrant arrests to domestic violence to property crime investigations to stolen vehicle reports.
