Artist, instructor and digital media maven Renne Emiko Brock-Richmond is teaching several computer classes emphasizing digital expression for Peninsula College’s Community Education division this spring.
The classes are taught at Dungeness Design, 520 N.
Sequim Ave., Sequim.
Courses include Computer Basics, Photoshop Elements, Photoshop Elements II, and several social media classes that concentrate on Facebook, Second Life, Flickr and You Tube.
The courses and dates are:
_ Social Media Facebook: 5:30-8 p.m. April 5. Create an account, upload photos, customize a profile, engage in chat and use Facebook applications for strategic networking.
_ Computer Basics: 3-5 p.m. Tuesdays, April 6-June 8. Purchasing the right computer; creating, moving, and organizing files and folders; opening and closing software; basic computer maintenance; saving and sending your pictures; the Internet and Internet security; researching online; and e-mail communications.
_ Photoshop Elements: 5:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesdays, April 6-June 8. Preserve history through pictures by using Adobe Photoshop Elements. Participants should have basic computer skills.
_ Photoshop Elements II. 5:30-7:30 p.m. Wednesdays, April 7-June 9. The class builds on techniques learned in Photoshop Elements I basics to image editing and enhancement through adjustment layers, blending modes and smart brush. Photoshop Elements I or Photoshop are prerequisites.
_ Social Media Flickr: 5:30-8 p.m. Monday, April 19. Learn about Flickr, an image and video-hosting site with capabilities to organize, edit, share, embed and tag photos.
_ Social Media Second Life: 5:30-8 p.m. Monday, May 3. Learn how to create an avatar, navigate through immersive 3-D environments, research personal interests.
