Deadline nears for second half property tax payments

The Clallam County Treasurer’s Office reminds the community that payments for 2024 second half property taxes are due by Thursday, Oct. 31.

The Treasurer’s Office lobby is open to receive tax payments from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday – Friday.

Payments must be postmarked or delivered to the Treasurer’s Office on or before the due date to avoid interest accrual.

All payments received after the due date will be subject to interest accrual and potential penalties if the payment continues to remain unpaid, noted Clallam County treasurer Jennifer White in a press release. Those requiring a receipt are asked to include a self-addressed stamped envelope with the payment.

Those making payments can save time by driving placing their payment in the locked payment box located in the circular drive at by the Clallam County Courthouse, 223 E. Fourth St., Port Angeles. Additionally, there are two hanging locked payment boxes located near the door to the Treasurer’s Office; one directly outside, and one immediately inside.

Any electronic payment will incur vendor processing fees, Treasurer’s Office representatives note. Visit clallamcountywa.gov/treasurer and use the “Property Search” option to locate and pay taxes online. This payment processor accepts all major credit cards, debit and electronic checks.
