Economic development summit in Port Angeles

The Clallam Economic Development Council will host a three-phase economic development summit on development throughout Clallam County.

The Clallam Economic Development Council will host a three-phase economic development summit on development throughout Clallam County. John White, vice president of Berger-ABAM, will facilitate.

The first phase is a public event from 6-8:30 p.m. Thursday, April 1, at the Red Lion Hotel in Port Angeles. At roundtables, participants will answer questions and discuss local economic development efforts and thoughts and ideas for future projects.

Phase II, April 2 at the Lincoln Center, will be one-on-one interviews with representatives of public and private agencies, small and large businesses, education and tribes.

The third phase, May 11, is a half-day session with countywide representatives involved in economic development.

White will gather information from the three phases and draft an action plan. The public can comment as agencies consider adopting it plan in mid-2010.
