Blessings came in Sunday, Sept. 13, as St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 525 N. Fifth Ave., Sequim, opened the doors officially on their new chapel.
The Right Rev. Gregory Rickel, bishop of the Diocese of Olympia, blessed the new chapel with parishioners attending the service.
The church’s sanctuary used to be open 365 days a year but vandalism in the past few years forced the church to close it after normal business hours.
The congregation opened the chapel as an alternative because they wanted to keep a facility available to the public.
All are welcome to visit the chapel.
Also at St. Luke’s, a candlelight Taize service of sung prayers, simple chants and silence for prayerful meditation will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 23, at the church.
