Family loses house to fire, fund established

A fund has been established to help Port Angeles residents Randy and Gloria Smith and their daughter Melissa and her two children, Elizabeth, 8, and Alden, 4, who lost their home to a fire on the night of Monday, June 28.

All possessions and the house were lost in the fire and the family is looking into reclaiming some of their losses through insurance.

Melissa Smith works for the Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe and her children attend school in Sequim. She and her mother are both tribal citizens.

People interested in donating to the Smith Family Relief Fund can call Diane Gange with the Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe at 683-1109. Checks can be made out to the tribe with the memo "Smith Family Fund" and mailed or dropped off with the Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe at 1033 Old Blyn Highway, Sequim, WA 98382.
