Finding their knitting niche

Knitters and spinners unite.

A small group of ladies from Sequim and Port Angeles have found their comfort spot creating and conversing together in between businesses in the Lehman Court Shops in Downtown Sequim.

“It’s an easy place to meet,” the women said seated outside Suzon’s Coffee Lounge and Fortune Star Chinese Restaurant at 145 E. Washington St.

They typically meet from 1-4 p.m. most Mondays and from 1-3 p.m. Thursdays and work on Fair Isle knitting pieces or spin for hours as customers walk by.

Participants will “show and tell” what they’ve been working on and newcomers are welcome to sit in and knit or spin, they said.

Participants on April 1 were, from left, Jean Cain, Susan Bott, Susan Kroll, Pam Meyer, Kathy Martin, Leslie Hoex, Sara Boore and Diane Chung.
