Firefighters responded to the report of a roof fire at 2219 West Sequim Bay Road yesterday.
A room above a garage was full of smoke and residents evacuated the building, Fire Chief Steve Vogel said.
The fire was called in at 4 p.m. and the first engine arrived five minutes later. Sequim, Blyn and Carlsborg stations responded with two fire engines, two water tenders, one rescue truck and two medic units.
Clallam County Sheriff’s deputies provided traffic control and the Clallam County Public Utility District responded to turn power off, Vogel said.
The cause of the fire has not been announced.
