An afternoon fire, Friday, Dec. 27, consumed a vacant mobile home at 252 Grouse Drive, located off of O’Brien Road east of Port Angeles.
Neighbors called 9-1-1 at 12:54 p.m. to report that heavy dark smoke was seen emerging from the home. The first arriving fire units found fire billowing from the windows on the west side of the home.
The structure was vacant and unoccupied.
The home was heavily damaged by smoke, water and fire and will not be able to be occupied. The dollar loss has not been determined. Investigators have begun the process of identifying the cause of the fire.
Agencies responding to the fire included Fire District 3, Fire District 2, Olympic Ambulance and Clallam County PUD.
