Firearms, drugs seized in arrest

On June 6, acting on information gathered in recent days, officers with the Washington Department of Corrections and detectives with the Olympic Peninsula Narcotics Enforcement Team arrested convicted felon John P. Robinson, 27, and Cade Barclay-Paxton, 21.

On June 6, acting on information gathered in recent days, officers with the Washington Department of Corrections and detectives with the Olympic Peninsula Narcotics Enforcement Team arrested convicted felon John P. Robinson, 27, and Cade Barclay-Paxton, 21.

Robinson is under active Department of Corrections community custody supervision and after he failed to report, was placed on escapee status. Law enofrcement officials learned that he was in possession of at least one firearm and has been trafficking in controlled substances locally.

Robinson was located sleeping in a storage unit in the unincorporated area of Clallam County east of the City of Port Angeles. Propped up against the bed Robinson was sleeping on was an assault rifle commonly referred to an AK-47.

Barclay-Paxton was arrested on a Department of Corrections violation and found in possession of about 1.9 grams of suspected heroin.

Also found in the storage unit was a .40 caliber semi-automatic handgun and notes documenting the trafficking of controlled substances.

In Robinson’s van, investigators found about 11.1 grams of suspected heroin and 6.4 grams of suspected methamphetamine.

Both are being held in the Clallam County Corrections Facility on Department of Corrections violations. Charges of unlawful possession of a firearm, possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and possession of a controlled substance will be forwarded to the Prosecutor’s Office, after arrangements to have the firearms tested for functionality and the suspected drugs analyzed by the Washington State Patrol Crime Lab.
