Five Acre Starts With Tradition
Five Acre School founders Juanita Ramsey-Jevne and Bill Jevne create an arch to allow for all the 2014 students enrolled in Five Acre School to pass through during the school’s first day opening ceremony. The 2014 school year marks 20 years in operation for the independent school neighboring the Dungeness National Wildlife Refuge. As in the past 19 years, Five Acre School staff welcomed the new school year with the tradition of hand-holding and singing with the students and their parents. But, unlike in past years, they also celebrated the completion of the restoration work done on the school’s outdoor hill on which students for years have played.
