Long before the crowds fill the grandstands, the carnival rides start up or the making of scones, there is some pageantry to take care of.
Five local girls are vying for the title of queen and princesses for the 2016 Clallam County Fair.
The fair, set for Aug. 18-21, has the theme for “Cowboy Boots and Country Roots.” Representing the fair and the county at several other fairs, parades and community events is the royalty, three of whom are to be selected at a ceremony set for March 2.
