Forum to highlight candidates for State Rep. seat

Community members can learn more about candidates for 24th Legislative District’s State Representative position this week.

The Peoples Forum hosts “A Candidate Conversation” from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 20, at the KSQM 91.5 FM broadcasting office, 609 W. Washington St., Suite 17, with four candidates running for the office in this year’s Primary Election (Aug. 6) and General Election (Nov. 5).

Invited candidates include Adam Bernbaum (D-Port Angeles), Eric Pickens (D-Sequim), Matthew Roberson (R-Port Angeles) and Nate Tyler (D-Port Angeles).

Forum organizers note that the conversation will be “audience driven without the interference of a moderator or timekeeper.”

The quartet of candidates are vying for the seat to be left open by Mike Chapman, a Port Angeles Democrat who announced in July 2023 he will seek a state senate seat to be vacated by Kevin Van Wege, who is running for State Commissioner of Public Lands.
