The Port Townsend Athletic Club in conjunction and Olympic Area Agency on Aging have scheduled a free, open-to-the-public workshop on diabetes self-management.
The workshop will be held one day a week, two-and-a-half hours, for six consecutive weeks (Thursdays) beginning Thursday May 1, and continuing May 8, May 15, May 22, May 29 and June 5, from 1-3:30 p.m., at the Port Angeles Senior Center, 328 E. Seventh St.
Space for the workshop is limited so register early.
Specifically trained leaders will facilitate the workshop. All of materials used were developed by Stanford University’s Diabetes Self-Management Program and are designed to help people with diabetes manage their blood sugar, decrease stress and frustration and improve their health.
Those caring for a loved one with diabetes may also benefit from this workshop, organizers say.
Each participant will have access to a ‘Living Well With Chronic Conditions’ book.
For more information and to register, call (866) 582-1487 or (360) 538-2457.
The meeting site is accessible to persons with disabilities and reasonable accommodations can be arranged with advance seven-day notice.
