Kelly Gasparach, a senior at Sequim High School, is the American Association of University Women Student of the Month for April.
Teachers Mike Lippert and Glenna Campbell recommended Gasparach for the honor.
Gasparach is enrolled in senior literature/composition, advanced placement government/contemporary issues, physics, Spanish III and online business mathematics. Gasparach’s school activities since starting at SHS in 2004 include International Club, National Honor Society, Link Crew, senior class senator and, for four years, the SHS soccer team. She was named captain in this her senior year. She expects to letter and earn the Scholar Athlete Award for the third consecutive year.
Gasparach also helps in the community, participating in several Five Acre School projects and volunteering at Welfare for Animals Guild. An outdoor sports enthusiast, Gasparach enjoys snowboarding, wakeboarding and soccer. She says her career plans include attending a four-year college and studies abroad for at least one semester. She says she’s considering a career as a psychologist and/or a business owner.
Gasparach’s parents are Fred and Debra Gasparach, of Sequim.
