A 6-year-old girl from Sekiu was injured in a two-vehicle collision four miles west of Sequim on June 14.

According to a Washington State Patrol report, a vehicle driven by Amanda King of Sekiu, 30, rear-ended a pickup truck driven by Carrol Peter, 70, of Phenix, Ala., on U.S. Highway 101 near Dryke Road west of Sequim.

The 6-year-old passenger in King’s vehicle was injured and transported to Olympic Medical Center.

According to the patrol’s report, King was driving too fast for conditions and was distracted by her passenger, not noticing that Peter’s vehicle was stopped on the roadway.

Neither driver was injured in the crash.

Two hurt in P.A. collision

Two drivers were injured in a two-vehicle collision on June 12 on Camp Hayden Road.

Johanna Hendrickson, 16, and Synthia Colthorp, 58, both of Port Angeles were transported to Olympic Medical Center after the crash at about 2:45 p.m.

According to a Washington State Patrol report, Hendrickson, driving a 1998 Ford Escort, attempted to make a turn from Camp Hayden Road onto state Route 112 and pulled out in front of Colthorp’s Toyota Camry.

The vehicles collided and came to rest in the intersection.

Hendrickson was cited for failure to yield, the state patrol reported.
