Aaron Hahn was sentenced Wednesday, Dec. 2, to 19 years in prison for trying to hire someone to kill a

Sequim teenager with whom he had a 21/2-year sexual relationship.

His sentence includes three years probation, $800 in fines and court and costs plus restitution to be determined.

Hahn is prohibited for life from contacting the now 19-year-old victim or her family.

The 30-year-old Gresham, Ore., resident was convicted Oct. 28 in Clallam County Superior Court.

Linda Hahn, Aaron’s mother, still faces a Feb. 3, 2010, trial on three counts of intimidating a witness.

The 62-year-old Springfield, Colo., resident allegedly posed as Aaron and sent three e-mails to the victim to convince her not to testify against her son.

Other sentences

Hahn also was sentenced Dec. 2 on one count of sexual exploitation of a minor to which he pleaded guilty on July 20.

He received 36 months in prison to be served at the same time as the other sentence.

He also will serve up to 48 months on probation and pay $800 in fines and court costs plus restitution and his victim’s counseling costs.

Hahn must successfully complete a sexual deviancy treatment program and obtain a psychosexual evaluation from a state-certified sex offense treatment provider and successfully complete any recommended treatment.

He must submit to physical or psychological testing when requested.

He also must get pre-approval of his living arrangements and submit to home inspections.

Hahn also is prohibited from:

_ Consuming alcohol or visiting place where it is the primary item of sale

_ Having contact with females under 18 years old except as authorized by his therapist or probation office

_ Residing within 880 feet of a public or private school

_ Moving from geographic boundaries set by his probation office

_ Owning a gun

_ Holding a position of authority over any minor unless authorized

_ Visiting places where children gather including parks, playgrounds, fairs, schools and video arcades.

Stung twice

Hahn had prior convictions in Oregon for assault in 2006, theft in 1999 and malicious mischief in 1998.

At the hearing, statements were read from the victim and her family and Hahn also spoke.

He met the girl online in January 2004 when she was 13. He threatened her after she ended the relationship in July 2006.

The girl went to police shortly afterward because of a Port Angeles woman killed by an ex-boyfriend who had stalked her.

Sequim police arrested Hahn in March 2008 in a sting operation that brought him to Castle Rock, Wash., avoiding a lengthy extradition process from Oregon.

Then in June 2008, Hahn asked a fellow inmate to help find someone to kill the girl. He provided detailed descriptions of the victim, her address and her daily routine, offering a car as a down payment and then $2,500 after the victim was killed.

The inmate informed jail personnel and another sting operation was set up. Hahn called a supposed hit man in California and negotiated to have the girl killed.
