SEQUIM HIGH SCHOOL
? The following students successfully passed the 2010 Advanced Placement English Literature and Composition Exam. This rigorous three-hour exam consists of four components: a multiple-choice section, in which students analyze prose and poetry passages, and three essays – comparing and contrasting two poems, an analysis of a fiction excerpt and an analysis of a literary novel of the student’s choice.
Dalton Ackley, Sarah Berkes, Annie Christie, Sarah Hankins, Rachel Hardy, Alice Hastings, Rachel Hughes, Karlee Johnston, Audrey Lichten, Mallory Maloney, Harrison Mitchell, Margaret Norlund, Emily Reis, David Richards, Miranda Robertson, Fallon Schneider, Lucas Shores, Brogan Vesterby, Georgia Williams and Sarah Workman. Johnston deserves special commendation as she is the first student in Sequim High School history to earn a five (the highest possible score) on the examination.
– Joe Younger, English Department head
? Congratulations to Lucas Shores who received Letter of Commendation recognition through the National Merit Scholarship Program. Lucas is an outstanding student at SHS and we’re proud of his latest accomplishment.

? Sequim High School is celebrating its 100th year. This school year marks the first year, 100 years ago, that Sequim had a ninth-grade class. This is a call-out to Sequim High School graduates to share their high school photographs for centennial displays. Ideally we would like to work with scanned photos but if you don’t have access to a scanner, bring your photos (with your name on them for return purposes) into the school district office and they will be scanned. Contact Loanna Torey at 582-3262, or e-mail scanned photos to ltorey@sequim.k12.wa.us.
