Historical Society offers preservation classes

The Clallam County Historical Society sponsors three preservation workshops in April at the society’s research and administrative center, 931 W. Ninth St., behind the Lincoln School.

The workshops run on consecutive Saturdays from 10 a.m.-1 p.m.:

• April 6: Research librarian Dona Cloud talks about making an oral history and conducts an interview with longtime Port Angeles resident Mary Louise Beam.

• April 13: Laura Reutter of Port Townsend discusses preservation of family heirlooms. Attendees are encouraged to bring a small object for discussion and comment in terms of condition and storage options (not value).

• April 20: Karon’s Frame Shop representatives talk about archival framing of photos and documents and preserving objects in shadow boxes.

The cost per class is $8 for members of the Clallam County Historical Society, $10 for nonmembers. Class size is limited.
