More than $41,000 in donations have been received to keep the aquatic therapy pool at Olympic Medical Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation in Port Angeles operational, after over $14,000 was raised at a fundraiser at Bar Hop Brewery on Saturday, Aug. 23.
Presented by Sequim Health and Rehabilitation and Crestwood Health and Rehabilitation (which also made a major donation to the project), “Hog Wild — A Night of Games, Suds and Grub,” featured a pig roast, Bar Hop micro brews, several games and music by the band Three Too Many.
Karen Rogers, Olympic Medical Center Foundation president, said people still may make donations to the pool fund, as $9,000 is needed to keep the pool open.
Persons who want to give can send checks or make payment by credit card to: Olympic Medical Center Foundation, 928 E Caroline St., Port Angeles 98362, earmarked “Support the Therapy Pool.” For more information, call 417-7144.
After hearing of the imminent closure of the therapy pool in early July, an anonymous donor committed to donating $25,000 — half of the $50,000 needed to purchase a new pool liner and other needed renovations — if the donation is matched.
