Hudson picked for Student of Month honor

Hannah Hudson was awarded Student of the Month honors for April at Sequim Middle School by the Sequim Sunrise Rotary Club.

Born and raised on the North Olympic Peninsula, Hudson says her favorite school subjects include yearbook, choir and her language arts and history block. She enjoys yearbook because she enjoys taking pictures and discovering how to do things on the computer.

"I like choir because I love to sing," Hudson says. "I don’t always know which note to sing but I spend most of my day singing, whether it’s at school or out of school."

She enjoys writing poetry and stories in her language arts class.

Her favorite sports are volleyball, track and basketball. She played on the middle school’s eighth-grade varsity volleyball team and Peninsula Team Turbo, a local club volleyball team. In her first meet of the track season, Hudson won all three of her events: the 60-, 100- and 200-meter dashes.

Outside of school she likes to sing, dance, draw, go camping, hang out with friends, shop, spend time with her whole family and, "a lot of girly stuff like experiment with my makeup and try goofy hair styles."

After high school, Hudson plans to go to college at the University of Tennessee or Oregon State University with her brother.

"I am hoping to get a sports scholarship to college or go to college in a journalist course so I can become a writer," Hudson says. "My life goal is to go to the Olympics. I would love to go in track or volleyball."

Hudson’s parents are Tony and Donna Hudson of

Sequim. Her brother Jacob is a sophomore at Sequim High School.
