Festival buttons
March 17 marked the start of a contest to sell Irrigation Festival buttons.
Fifth-graders from Greywolf and Helen Haller elementary schools sell the buttons to raise funds for the festival through Thursday, March 25.
The top three winners from each school get prizes. The top prize is a new bicycle.
Ceremonies will be held at Greywolf at
9 a.m. and at Helen Haller at 11:40 a.m. Thursday, March 25, to honor the winners.
This year’s button was designed by Greywolf fifth-grader Amber Lamb.
Parade applications
Applications are available for Sequim Irrigation Festival parade entries at Olympic Game Farm, KeyBank, the East Washington branch of Kitsap Bank or from Alice Beebe.
Applications must be returned by April 27 to Alice M. Beebe, parade chairman, 1421 Ward Road, Sequim, WA 98382.

Festival kickoff dinner
The 115th Irrigation Festival kickoff dinner begins at 5 p.m. Saturday, March 27, in the Club Seven Room at 7 Cedars Casino, 270756 Highway 101, Blyn.
A fundraiser for the festival, the evening includes the introduction of 2010 festival dignitaries and the recently selected 2010 royalty.
Festival pins and donated items will be auctioned during the live auction. There also will be a silent auction.
Tickets are $35 and must be purchased in advance at KeyBank, Frick Drug, The Buzz or the Chamber of Commerce Visitor Information Center in Sequim.
