The Clallam County Gem and Mineral Association hosts a spring open house from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. on Saturday, May 23, at the club’s shop, 81 Hooker Road, Unit 5, Sequim.

Club members will be on hand to help attendees identify rocks, giving information on how to cut rocks and polish gems and stones for use in jewelry or for display and more.

See demonstrations on rock cutting and polishing, wire wrapping polished stones, creating chain mail jewelry and faceting stones. See facilities for casting, metal smithing and other lapidary activities.

The club is a nonprofit association organized for educational activity in the science of geology as it relates to the discovery of rock, mineral and fossils; the art of lapidary to enhance rocks’ natural beauty, and to the promotion of rocks and “rock hounding” through information and special programs.

For more information, see the club’s website at sequimrocks.com or call club president Scott Thornhill at 912-1520.
