Legislative listening session for young voters set for Oct. 21

Young voters and soon-to-be voters ages 16-29 are invited to speak with local legislators at a listening session hosted by the North Olympic Library System (NOLS) in partnership with the League of Women Voters of Clallam County.

The Legislative Listening Session is set for 1-3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21, at the Port Angeles Library, 2210 S. Peabody St.

Rep. Mike Chapman (D-Port Angeles) and Rep. Steve Tharinger (D-Port Townsend) will be in attendance from the 24th Legislative District to the Washington State House of Representatives.

Adam Bernbaum of Sen. Kevin Van de Wege’s (D-Port Angeles) office from the 24th Legislative District to the Washington State Senate will attend on the senator’s behalf. Each will provide a brief introduction to their work, including special projects of interest and recently sponsored bills.

After introductions, the audience will divide into smaller groups based on topics of interest expressed by attendees. Participants will have the opportunity to express concerns and share experiences directly with Chapman, Tharinger and Bernbaum.
