Lichten picked as voc student

Even outside of school, Sequim High School senior Gabriel Lichten is a computer aficionado.

That passion has paid off, as Lichten is Sequim Sunrise Rotary’s Vocational Student of the Month for June.

SHS teacher Stu Marcy selected the senior to represent the Sequim High School business department.

Lichten was enrolled in a Cisco networking class and A+ computer repair, as well as photography, senior composition calculus and AP government in his final quarter. He said his favorite classes are working with computers and math.

Lichten also is a member of the leadership club Future Business Leaders of America, FBLA. He plans to compete in a national FBLA competition this summer. He has been part of the Sequim High School Knowledge Bowl team, track and field team, and cross-country team.

Lichten said he enjoys sports and spends time in technology areas with computers, spending time with friends and watching movies. His other free time is spent on a part-time job. Lichten is an active member of the Dungeness Community Church Youth Group.

Lichten said his future plans are to attend the University of Washington to major in computer science and minor in mathematics.
