Lions roar in support of Greywolf playground project
These Wolves are getting some much-appreciated help from Lions.
Young students at Greywolf Elementary School in Carlsborg got a big boost from the Sequim Valley Lions Club last week. The civic group donated $7,500 to the school to help pay for a playground refurbishment project.
Here, the Sequim Lions present Greywolf Parent-Teacher association president Dede Bessey (with her children Jera and Jorel) with the funds at Paradise Restaurant in Sequim on May 26.
As of last week, the Greywolf PTA has raised $26,750 of the $35,000 needed to replace equipment at the school; earlier this year, some of the school’s equipment was deemed unsafe and was removed.
Bessey said the goal is to have the equipment purchased and installed by the beginning of next school year.
