The Clallam County Democrats organization will feature former Gov. Gary Locke as the keynote speaker for the annual Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt Dinner from 4:30-8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 23, at Club Seven in 7 Cedars Casino in Blyn.
As governor from 1997-2005, (the first Chinese American to be elected governor in United States history and the first Asian American governor on the mainland), U.S. Secretary of Commerce and most recently as America’s envoy to China, Locke has been a leader in the areas of education, employment, trade, health care, human rights, immigration reform, privacy and the environment.
Locke received a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from Yale University and a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from the Boston University School of Law.
There will be a social hour from 4:30-5:30 p.m., with a buffet dinner from 5:30-6:45 p.m. and the program from 6:45-8 p.m.
