Different service groups helped prepare Sequim’s cemeteries with U.S. flags on veterans’ graves on May 23 for Memorial Day weekend.
Carl Bradshaw, commanding officer for American Legion Sequim Post 62, said his group places flags annually at Sequim View, Jamestown, Blue Mountain and Dungeness cemeteries.
They also led the Memorial Day services this year and switch annually with Sequim VFW Post 4760.
Also helping with flags were representatives with Sequim Rainbow for Girls No. 57, Carlsborg VFW Post 6787, Coast Guardsmen from Everett and the Sequim VFW.
The VFW and American Legion held a joint Memorial Day observance at the Sequim View Cemetery on May 25. From there the American Legion held services at Jamestown Cemetery, Dungeness Cemetery and Blue Mountain Cemetery. The VFW held services at Pioneer Park, Blyn Cemetery and Gardiner Cemetery.
