Meth distributor sentenced to 11 years

Timothy P. Smith, 31, of Sequim, was sentenced to 11 years in federal prison and five years of supervised release on April 3 in U.S. District Court in Tacoma for distributing methamphetamine in the Sequim area.

Smith, the former owner of Sellin’ Style car dealership near Blyn, pleaded guilty Jan. 2, to conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine and possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute.

According to records in the case, Smith and his accomplices had been under investigation by federal law enforcement since 2011 with some local investigations going back even further.

Smith sold methamphetamine to a person working with law enforcement on multiple occasions in June, July and August 2013 at his dealership.

He was arrested on Feb. 23, 2014, following a high speed chase in conjunction with a separate investigation and take-down of a larger drug ring, which was supplying methamphetamine to Smith and others.

Their co-conspirator Tammy R. Coburn was sentenced to 18 months in prison in March and and other defendants Kelsey J. Davis, Smith’s girlfriend, Holli A. Bell, Jacob E. Davis and Charles D. Aslin, have pleaded guilty in the case and are pending sentencing.
