Saturday, May 31, 12 members of the Sequim Association of Realtors joined with members of Broom Busters II and cleared Scotch broom from alongside U.S. Highway 101 between Sequim Avenue and River Road.

Those participating included Sheryl Burley, Barb Butcher, Tyler Conkle, Diann Dickey, Doug Hale, Heidi Hansen, Michael and Mike McAleer, Karen Pritchard, Cathy Reed and Randy Wellman. Also working were Alan Halfhill, Doug and Gretha Davis and Anita Knapp.

Broom Busters II is one of many river center rally teams, fundraising during May, raising money to support the educational programs of the Dungeness River Audubon Center and Railroad Bridge Park in Sequim.

Their goal is removing invasive Scotch broom along the Olympic Discovery Trail. This year they have advanced from Whitefeather Way to Strait View Drive (Morris Creek).
