Sequim pioneer residents Dick and Winona Bekkevar celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary June 18 at the annual Bekkevar family reunion.

The Bekkevars were married June 16, 1946, in Port Angeles. Dick worked in logging, road construction and well drilling. Winona was a homemaker and also worked at the Sequim Cleaners.

Their six children — Chris Baker, Aleta and Mark Smith, David and Patricia Bekkevar, Loretta and Fred Grant, Dorinda and Jeffrey Becker and Jim and Andrea Bekkevar — all live in Sequim.

They have 13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
