Author Karen Polinsky reads from her newly released book “Dungeness” at Sequim Museum & Arts recently. “Dungeness” mixes the writings of Mary Ann Lambert, oral histories passed down through the generations and the author’s research about the Dungeness Massacre. The book delves into all sides of the mystery surrounding this horrific incident on the Dungeness Spit in 1868.

Polinsky plans to return to the museum for other readings and book signings. An art exhibit in September will show replicas of the “silver earrings” found at the site of the carnage.

Judy Reandeau Stipe, executive director at Sequim Museum & Arts, said Polinsky’s novel and Mary Ann Lambert’s books are for sale at the 175 W. Cedar St. The museum exhibit center location is open from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday.
