Milestone: Firefighters raise $7K to fight leukemia, lymphoma

District 3 (Sequim) firefighters raised more than $7,000, district officials said.

The top fundraising district was Seattle Fire, which raised more than $89,000. Rochelle Cristine of Port of Seattle Fire was the top individual fundraiser at more than $32,000.

For Fire District 3, Lee Oman, 63, finished the stair climb in 26 minutes, 47 seconds — fifth in his age group. Stephanie Anderson, 31, was 24th in her age group finishing in 27:17, while Lee Forderer, 45, finished in 29:06, good for 101st in his age group. Becca Yucha, 39, was 25th in her age group with a 38:57 finish. John McIntyre, 43, placed 192nd in his age group with a 41:08 effort. Joe Carter, 63, was 10th in his age group at 54:19 while 51-year-old Michael McAneny was 78th in his age group at 1:31:23.

Andrew Drobek, 34, of Missoula, Mont., repeated as winner of the overall climb, his fifth in a row, with a finish of 10 minutes, 43 seconds — tops among the 1,794 competitors and 1,619 males. Drobek took second at the 2010 and 2011 climbs, and has raced to a best time each year since. The top female was 47-year-old Michelle Croft of Columbia River Fire and Rescue, who finished the climb in 15 minutes, 28 seconds, for her second win in as many years; Croft has placed in the top five since 2011.
