US Bank representatives Georgia Gale, Sequim branch manager, and Amanda Bell, universal banker, presented $2,000 to the Sequim Boys & Girls Clubs’ “Power Hour” on Nov. 12 from a grant.

Mary Budke, executive director of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Olympic Peninsula, said the money helps fund the national program where students earn points for doing homework, reading, learning sight words and finishing work sheets. When they accumulate enough points students can earn rewards like a movie party.

The program goes one hour everyday after school and is led by staff like Jan Eadie, education coordinator. Every child in the club does homework for at least 30 minutes, Budke said.
