Milestone: Gruendell gets Rotary honor

Gabe Gruendell, a sophomore at Sequim High School, recently was recognized as the Sequim Sunrise Rotary’s March Vocational student of the month.

Gabe Gruendell, a sophomore at Sequim High School, recently was recognized as the Sequim Sunrise Rotary’s March Vocational student of the month.

His mother, Tina Gruendell, also was in attendance.

Gruendell was nominated for his work in her business class by SHS teacher Christy Ditlefsen.

Gruendell was born in Port Angeles and has three other siblings, one of which is in the Air Force in England. His other favorite school subjects include Robotics Club, multimedia, video game design and a recent class he took titled “Introduction to Law.”

He is learning to drive and jokingly gave warning to the Rotarians that he is out on the road taking lessons.

Outside of school, Gruendell enjoys photography, camping and is involved with Scouts.
