Pierson gets honor from Sequim Elks

Sequim Elks Lodge 2642’s Student of the Month for April is Sequim High sophomore Kiara Pierson. She and her family were guests of honor at a Social Night event.

Pierson has a 4.0 grade-point average. She was selected for her high academic achievements, leadership skills and involvement in extracurricular activities. She is enrolled in Spanish II, Honors World Literature, Advanced Placement Biology and Honors Algebra II, cooking and ceramics.

Pierson participates with Sequim High’s cross country, wrestling and track and field teams. She competed at the state wrestling meet this year, earning fourth place in her weight class. Outside of school, Pierson is involved with a youth group, having traveled on mission trips to Mexico.

She said she hopes to attend college at the University of Washington majoring in biomedicine or pediatrics and has future plans that include studying abroad.

Pierson is the daughter of Scott and Lisa Pierson.
