In response to the Sequim School District’s appeal for child-sized wheelchairs to be donated, the Shipley Center recently “re-gifted” one that had been donated to it.

On April 28, Shipley Center board vice president Joe Borden delivered the chair to the district’s nurse Sonja Bittner at Helen Haller Elementary School.

Bittner said, “Health services has received many supportive phone calls in response to the ‘Letter to the Editor’ that appeared in the Sequim Gazette, but we still are in need of two wheelchairs, in good working condition, with sturdy, well-fitting leg supports.

“We are looking for one smaller wheelchair for Greywolf Elementary School and one adult-size wheelchair for Sequim High School.”
