Sherold Reed and the late Daniel L. Reed of Sequim announce the engagement of their daughter, Stephanie L. Reed to Lt. AJ Tordini, son of Dr. Art and Judy Tordini of Port Angeles.
She is a 2006 graduate of Sequim High School, 2011 graduate of the Peninsula College Nursing Program as well as the first (2014-2015) Miss Fort Discovery of Sequim. Reed is employed as a registered nurse at Christus Spohn Hospital Kleberg in Kingsville, Texas.
Lt. Anthony Joseph Tordini is a 2004 graduate of Port Angeles High School, 2008 graduate of the United States Naval Academy with a degree in systems engineering, 2010 United States Naval Aviator, Past Strike Fighter VFA 154 Black Knights, F/A 18 Super Hornet pilot. Currently, Lt. Tordini is a flight instructor at VT-22 Golden Eagles and a Landing Signal Officer (LSO) stationed in Kingsville, Texas.
The couple will marry in the first military wedding to be hosted at Fort Discovery in Sequim, in July 2016. Lt. Tordini and the wedding party will wear dress military uniforms. The USN arch of swords will be authorized for Lt. Tordini as a commissioned officer.
(The arch of swords ceremony is an old English and American custom, which gives a symbolic pledge of loyalty to the newly married couple from their USN family).
