On July 27, members of the Sunrise Rotary Club of Sequim constructed much needed storage for the Boys & Girls Club on Fir Street in Sequim.
Rotarians participating in the construction were Jack Tatom, Richard Parks, Cliff Brehan, Paul McHugh, Chris Coolures, Peter Bahnsen, Tom Schaafsma and Jerry Sinn.
The primary beneficiaries of the project will be the teens as space now will be available to expand their gym/weightlifting area for the club’s Triple Play Program. In addition, program materials now stored in classroom areas and offices will be relocated to the new storage building freeing up more club space and allowing for a better office environment.
The club constructed the building in one day. Community Service chairman Eric Mahnerd reported that club members could not have constructed the building without the help of Thomas Building Center which donated all the materials, Allen Roofing which donated materials and labor to install the roof and Tracy’s Insulation and Gutter which provided and installed the gutters and downspouts.
