Milestone: Royalty reaps rewards for animals

Clallam County Fair queen Mia Steben and princess Hannah Fritz (with Thor) help host a pet food drive supporting Welfare Animals Guild, Peninsula Friends of Animals and the Olympic Peninsula Humane Society on Saturday, April 19, at Sequim’s Petco.

The royalty — minus princess Hannah Gauthun, who was participating a in the State Trap Meet in Wenatchee — collected donations of pet food and products to help care for local animals in need.

The royalty also collected more than $200 in donations that will be donated to one of the canine search-and-recovery teams that participated in the Oso Slide Recovery efforts.
