Scout gleans pumpkins for good cause

Carson Holt, 12, a Tenderfoot with Boy Scout Troop 1492, raised $880 on Oct. 19 by selling his personally grown pumpkins. In his second year, he donated $450 to the Captain Joseph House Foundation, an effort to provide respite to families of fallen soldiers. He raised about $500 last year. Carson said he plans to harvest most of his pumpkins and hopes to keep the tradition going through getting his Eagle Scout badge.
