Milestone: Straling is Elks’ Student of the Month

Sequim High School sophomore Emily Straling was named Sequim Elks Lodge’s February Student of the Month at its social night dinner meeting.

Sequim High School sophomore Emily Straling was named Sequim Elks Lodge’s February Student of the Month at its social night dinner meeting.

Straling was selected for her high academic achievements and involvement in school activities. She holds a 3.7 grade-point average and is enrolled in Spanish 2, cooking, chemistry, Honors History, Honors Literature and geometry. Her school activities include ASB and cheerleading. Her interests are reading, Greek mythology, music, journalism and writing. Her future plans are to attend the University of Washington and pursue a career that includes animals.

She is the daughter of Shenna Straling.
