Emily Van Dyken recently was honored as Rotary Student of the Month for January by President Sara Maloney of the Rotary Club of Sequim.

Van Dyken is the daughter of Dr. Scott and Lise Van Dyken of Port Angeles.

She was selected for the award by the faculty of Sequim High School where she serves on the ASB Leadership Team, sings in the SHS choir and competes as a member of both the girls swim team and track team.

Upon graduating this June, she plans to continue her studies at Gonzaga University to become a neonatal nurse.
