The City of Sequim will have a ribbon-cutting ceremony to commemorate the opening of the new driveway and parking spaces at Carrie Blake Community Park.
The ceremony will take place on site at 500 N. Blake Ave. at 11:30 a.m. Monday, July 25.
The project was completed through the partnership of the Sequim Family Advocates, the Haller Foundation and the City of Sequim.
Effective July 26, there will be 63 new parking spots available and the new driveway will reroute vehicle traffic through the park one way, entering off of Blake Avenue and exiting off of Rhodefer Road. Visitors traveling in cars to the park will no longer be able to enter through Rhodefer Road.
These changes will increase the safety of visitors who utilize the park and better support the numerous events at the park including the use of the Albert Haller Playfields and the James Center for the Performing Arts.
