Mosaic, a nonprofit organization serving the adult developmentally disabled population of Clallam County, is pleased to announce that Dr. Supriya Jayadev joined the organization as the new executive director effective Sept. 11.

Jayadev holds a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from San Jose State University and a Doctorate in cell biology from Duke University.

Her professional career started with a postdoctoral position at the National Institute of Environment Health Sciences and continued in pharmaceutical research and development. She left the pharmaceutical industry and moved with her family to the Olympic Peninsula in July 2011.

In Clallam County, Jayadev has been involved with the Parent Service Organization of Five Acre School, serving as the treasurer for that organization for a brief period. She has volunteered in the classrooms at both Five Acre School and Children’s Montessori School.

Mosaic representatives said Jayadev is an energetic leader who brings grant writing/review, marketing, staff management, financial management, teaching and volunteer expertise to the organization.

Board members said they look forward to working with Jayadev to successfully move forward the organization’s mission to “empower individuals with developmental disabilities through education, friendships and opportunities to try new things, grow in independence and to seek out and claim their place in the world.”
