Asphalt grinding and paving for North Sequim Avenue is slated to begin Monday Aug. 19.
The work will take place 7 a.m.-6 p.m., Monday through Wednesday, and is weather-dependent. The work will be performed by Interwest Construction and Agate Asphalt.
North Sequim Avenue, between Deytona Street and the roundabout at Old Olympic Highway and Port Williams Road, will be completely closed Aug. 19-21.
A detour route will be in place directing traffic around North Sequim Avenue and the adjoining streets to the roundabout. There will be no through traffic allowed during this time, though resident access will be provided.
Drivers are encouraged to heed flaggers, cones and construction signage, and to be cognizant of large construction equipment, trucks and their backup alarms, city representatives said.
Emergency vehicle access will be provided at all times, and emergency vehicles will be allowed to drive through the work zone during an emergency.
