NPBA offers certified lead renovator class

Builders who work on homes built before 1978 or homeowners planning a renovation that will disturb more than 6 square feet of surface need to become Certified Lead Renovators or have a contractor certified by taking a class offered by the North Peninsula Building Association.

The class will be taught by NPBA member Annie O’Rourke, who is a certified trainer.

The class is offered from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 29, at the Service Master training room, 130 Harrison Road, in Carlsborg.

Cost is $150 for members, $250 for nonmembers, and includes individual registration with the Washington Department of Commerce.

To register, call the NPBA at 452-8160. For more information about the rule and the training, visit www.commerce.wa.gov/lead.
