Ronald L. Woods

A celebration of life for Ronald L. Woods will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, April 27, at the Pioneer Memorial Park clubhouse, 387 E. Washington St., Sequim.

He was born Dec. 5, 1941, and died Nov. 28, 2007.

Gary Philip Jensen

A local service will be held at a later date for Port Angeles resident Gary Philip Jensen, who died April 12, 2008, at the age of 53 of cancer.

He was born April 30, 1954, in Longview, to Oliver James and Juanita Henry Jensen.

He married Michele Benoit on Oct. 23, 1997, in Milwaukie, Ore.

He previously was married to Sharon Jones. They divorced in 1987.

He served in the Marine Corps as a lance corporal from 1972-75.

Mr. Jensen had worked as a mechanic, carpenter and a salesman.

He enjoyed fishing.

He was a member of the Lions Club.

He is survived by his wife Michele Benoit of Port Angeles; stepson and daughter-in-law Matthew and Alison Zimmerman of San Diego, Calif.; daughters Katrina Jensen and Wendy Jensen, both of Portland, Ore.; brothers Dan Hart of Kelso, Rodney Jensen of Phoenix, Ariz., Randy Jensen of Seattle, Ramon DelRio of Seattle and Don Jensen of Oregon City, Ore.; sister Cindy Brown of Kelso; and one grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Eula C. Kirby

A service has been held for Sequim resident Eula C. Kirby, who died April 14, 2008, at the age of 87 following a short illness.

She was born Aug. 8, 1920, in Skowhegan, Maine, to Henry and Alice Weston Todd.

She married Raymond E. Kirby on Sept. 10, 1955, in Madison, Maine.

She is survived by her husband, retired U.S. Navy Capt. Raymond E . Kirby; son and daughter-in-law Raymond A. and Bonnie Kirby; daughter and son-in-law Irene and Steve Burrows; and two grandchildren.

Cheryl Susan Blevins

A celebration of life will be held at a later date for Port Angeles resident Cheryl Susan Blevins, who died April 10, 2008, at the age of 58.

She was born Aug. 4, 1949, in San Antonio, Texas, to Paul Leotis and Agnes Lucille Schaffer Frantz.

She married James Don Blevins Sr. on Nov. 4, 1976, in Port Angeles.

Her marriage to Rueben Wayne Allen ended in divorce.

After early retirement from First Federal Savings & Loan, she was a homemaker. She enjoyed spending time with her family and cooking.

She was a member of Joyce Bible Church.

Mrs. Blevins is survived by her husband James Don Blevins Sr. of Port Angeles; sons and daughter-in-law Mike and Marie Allen of Tehachapi, Calif., and Jay Blevins Jr. of Sequim; daughters and son-in-law Missy and Steve Pedrazzini of Sequim, BJ Blevins of Port Angeles and Renee Blevins of Anchorage, Alaska; brothers and sisters-in-law Melvin Frantz of the Phillipines, Sara Frantz of Quilcene, Merlin and Sandi Frantz of Port Angeles and Merle and Diana Frantz of Quilcene; sister and brother-in-law Barb and Rick Withers of Vancouver, Wash.; 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Marion Maltpress Bobb

A service for former Sequim resident Marion Maltpress Bobb will be held at 3 p.m., Tuesday, June 24, at Dungeness Community Church, 45 Eberle Lane, Sequim. Pastor Scott Culver will preside.

Mrs. Bobb died April 12, 2008, at the age of 91.

A Shelton resident for the past two years, she was born Oct. 7, 1916, in Edgerton, Wis., to Bessie Henry and Harry Maltpress.

She graduated from Edgerton High School in 1933 and attended Madison Business College in Wisconsin.

She worked at Highway Trailer Company in Edgerton from 1935-1950; Gibbs Manufacturing Corporation in Janesville, Wis., from 1950-1958; Wickem Consigny and Sedor Law Firm in Janesville from 1958-1965 and Stanford University Graduate School of Business from 1965-1981.

She enjoyed knitting and reading.

She was a member of Dungeness Community Church in Sequim for 22 years. Faith, family and friends were most important to her.

She knitted 87 shawls for Prayer Shawl Ministry at United Methodist Church in Shelton.

She is survived by her daughters Nancy Dickinson of Edgerton, Wis., and Mary Lou Weissgerber of Hoodsport; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Johann Samlowski

No service was reported for Sequim resident Johann Samlowski, who died April 11, 2008, at the age of 81.

He was born April 5, 1927, in Sensburg, Germany, to Erich and Anna Latsch Samlowski.

He married Brigitte Samlowski in May 1952 in Gottingen, Germany.

He and his family immigrated to the United States in 1961.

He arrived as a mechanic for Volkswagen and retired 35 years later a top executive.

The family had the opportunity to live in various states but retired in Washington because of their love for the Pacific Northwest.

His hobby of photography and video benefited many organizations, where he donated his time and talents.

A devoted husband to his wife of 55 years and a loving, supportive father to their daughter, he will be remembered for his generosity and humor.
